World Menopause Day

Find support near you
Menopause and perimenopause are natural stages of life, but the changes they bring can affect physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Many people experience symptoms such as hot flushes, poor sleep, anxiety, low mood, brain fog, or joint pain. Others may notice changes to their relationships, energy levels, or confidence at work.
You don’t have to manage it alone. There is support available locally in Merton to help you understand what’s happening to your body, access trusted information, and connect with others who understand.
Your GP can offer medical advice and treatments, such as Hormone Replacement Therapy, as well as check-ups on bone, heart, and mental health. If you’re unsure, it’s always worth making an appointment; you deserve to be listened to and supported.
We provide Social Prescribing in every GP practice across Merton, our team can help you find non-medical support to complement GP care. This might include:
- Local women’s health and wellbeing workshops
- Peer or community support groups
- Exercise, yoga, or relaxation sessions
- Mental health and counselling services
- Exercise classes that may help Pelvic floor or bladder health
- Advice on sleep, stress and nutrition
- Guidance and signposting to services that can help and advise if symptoms are impacting your work
- Signposting to services for trans and non-binary people navigating this, who may need more specialised and sensitive input
Our Social Prescribers take time to understand what matters to you and can connect you with trusted local services and activities. If you think this might help you, ask your practice to refer you to Social Prescribing.
