A Week of Learning, Networking, and Advocacy for Social Prescribing

The Social Prescribing team has had an eventful and inspiring week, engaging with thought leaders, health professionals, and policymakers to drive forward innovative solutions in community health.

The Social Prescribing team has had an eventful and inspiring week, engaging with thought leaders, health professionals, and policymakers to drive forward innovative solutions in community health.

The week kicked off at Best Practice & Women’s Health in London, where Kelly and Kemi, later joined by Karen, participated in expert-led workshops designed to improve social prescribing pathways. These sessions provided valuable insights that will shape the team's approach in the months ahead.

On the 27th February, Mustafa and Kelly joined Merton Council, the Greater London Authority (GLA), and Southbank University for a discovery workshop focused on tackling fuel poverty—an urgent challenge affecting many vulnerable households. This collaboration aimed to develop new strategies to reach those most in need, ensuring support is both accessible and effective.

The week concluded with a presentation at London Metropolitan University, where Mustafa, Karen, and Kelly engaged with students and academics on the growing role of social prescribing in healthcare. By sharing real-world applications, the team hopes to inspire the next generation of health professionals to integrate social prescribing into their future practice.

Beyond daily responsibilities, the team is committed to educating, advocating, and collaborating to create healthier, more resilient communities. By forging strong partnerships and embracing new opportunities, social prescribing continues to be a powerful force for change.
